( UNIT 4 - STORY TIME ) SIMPLE PAST TENSE

WE USE THE SIMPLE PAST TENSE TO SHOW A PAST ACTION. WE USUALLY ADD d OR ed AT THE END OF WORDS TO SHOW PAST ACTION. BUT SOME WORDS DO NOT FOLLOW THE RULE.







SO CHILDREN, CAN YOU IDENTIFY A SIMPLE PAST TENSE IN THIS STORY.
WHICH ONE FOLLOW THE RULE AND WHICH ONE NOT? :)

Once upon a time there lived an unhappy young girl.Her mother was dead. Her father was married with a widow with two daughters. Her stepmother never like her and so do the sisters. She is a maid in her own house.


One day, she heard about the ball to be held at the palace and her stepsister is coming too. Cinderella always want to go there but she knew that her sisters never let her go. She felt so sad.


But suddenly something amazing happened. As Cinderella was sitting alone, they were a burst of light and the fairy appeared.


With a flick of the magic wand the pumpkin turned into a sparkling coach and the mice became six white horses, while the seventh mouse turned into a coachman in a smart uniform and carrying a whip. Cinderella could hardly believe her eyes.


she looked very stunning at the ball dance and the prince was now madly in love with her. Cinderella had a wonderful time at the ball until she heard the first stroke of midnight! She remembered what the fairy had said, and without a word of goodbye she slipped from the Prince. s arms and ran down the steps.


However the prince ask the ministers tried the slipper on the foot of every girl in the land until only Cinderella was left. And after a long day ahead the shoe fitted perfectly on her, Cinderella. Then, they live happily ever after.
